The abalone shell has shimmers of iridescent green with hints of blue and purple and is tucked between two slightly ribbed white tusk shells. They hang approx. 1.5 inches below the sterling silver ear wires.
Tusk shells were once used by the Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest as a form of currency and as decorations on belts and headdresses. Conical in shape, the have a natural curve, slight ribbing on the outer surface and are naturally hollow which made them an easy candidate for threading.
