Copper and Silver Monkey Pod Seed Earrings
Hand wired monkey pod drift seed hoop earrings inspired by the sea.
A natural yet colorful hoop earring that bring out the bohemian side in you.
These little sea beans, come from the Monkey Pod Tree, also called the Rain Tree. Dark brown seed pods grow about 7 inches long holding numerous 1/2- inch seeds. Monkey pods can be found growing in tropical forests. I found these seeds on the beach where they washed naturally up on the shore. Their rich color and perfect shape just called out to be used in a creative way.
• The monkey pod seed, a hard shell in a slightly elongated shape with a darker brown line down the center of the mostly brownish red seed. I have partnered them with red agate stone beads and coiled copper wire as accents.
• Hand shaped, silver filled wire hoops mounted on sterling silver French hook ear wires measure approx. 1.25 inches at their widest point.
• 2 inches long from the top of the ear wire to the bottom.
A fun and eco- friendly earring from nature itself.
